Mystery Building Contest Rules

  1. ELIGIBILITY: Anyone, other than current employees of Parkinson Field Associates or The Parkinson Archives, is eligible to enter. No limit is placed on number of entries per person.
  2. MONTHLY PHOTOGRAPH: The Mystery Building is a photograph from The Parkinson Archives which is submitted to the public for identification. Justification of an answer (why you know the answer) is required to enable us to select the winner. All justifications will be investigated before determination of winner is completed.
  3. ANSWERS: Must include city, street address or nearest cross streets. For commercial buildings, you must give the primary building tenant (either at the time when the photo was originally taken, or as exists currently) or building name. Additional information on why you believe the building is what you say it is may support your being selected as the Winner. A scanned photo sent to us that shows the building today may be judged as the best supporting evidence in certain circumstances. Be creative in your justifications!
  4. ENTRY FORM: All fields in the entry form must be filled out unless specifically identified by us as optional. Your true name is not required, and if you win, will be published only with your permission. Valid e-mail addresses are required in order to be eligible for winning.
  5. CORRECT ANSWERS: Depending on the monthly photo, the correct answer may be the building name, building address or cross streets and city.. You may check our site at the beginning of the month to see who (if anyone) won the previous month.
  6. TWO OR MORE CORRECT ANSWERS: The first to submit the correct answer with a legitimate email address shall be deemed the winner. Others who submit correct answers will be listed, when space allows.
  7. WINNERS: The Parkinson Archives is thankful for all assistance from the public in assisting us in our photograph identification. Winners will be notified by return e-mail, unless alternate means for contact are given by the contest entrant. Invalid email addresses may disqualify potential winners. Winners names (with your permission) will be posted on our site. There is no limit for number of times a person may win.
  8. PRIZES: Winners may chose from: the 22-page Parkinson Centennial Commemorative Booklet, the high-quality Parkinson Centennial Commemorative Poster, or a 1/4 size print of Parkinson & Parkinson's 1929 Bullocks-Wilshire Department Store original architectural drawing, suitable for framing.
  9. CHANGES TO RULES: The Parkinson Archives reserves the right to: change rules which prove to be unfair or unmanageable; announce "no winner" when no valid entry is submitted with the correct answer; and, downgrade or upgrade value of prizes as this contest develops.
