PARKINSON CENTENNIAL ITEMS

1994 marked the 100th year of the Parkinson firm in Los Angeles - still the oldest continually operating architectural firm to be established there. Many Parkinson fans got their Centennial items back then. We are pleased to announce that these are now available again, six years later.

Centennial Poster (18"w x 24"h)

Printed on the occasion of the Parkinson firm's 100th Anniversary in March 1994 by Los Angeles printer, Taft Printing. Poster designed by graphic artist, Deborah Coburn.

Sepia-toned, heavy paper stock, with matte finish, except for clear glossy overlay of the column detail from the 1908 Pacific Mutual Building. All 10 featured buildings featured exteriors cast in glazed terra cotta, produced by the famous Gladding-McBean Company of Lincoln, California, who made the poster possible.

Gloriously featured are: Bullocks-Wilshire Department Store (1929), Title Insurance Building (1928), Alexandria Hotel (1906), Homer Laughlin Building (1897), Title Guarantee Building (1930), Continental Building (1904), Los Angeles City Hall (1928), Currier Building (1895), L.A. Trust & Savings Bank (1910), and the Pacific Mutual Building (1908).

Includes firm history, feature stories on 9 of the most historically-significant Parkinson buildings in Los Angeles, feature story on the USC Campus, photos of 35 other significant structures, images of 5 demolished Parkinson buildings, and a map showing 50 extant buildings in downtown Los Angeles.

Graphically beautiful, this quality publication belongs on every history buff's bookshelf.
